“A new, fascinating take on a classic epic adventure.” —NPR
“The Door on the Sea is a mythical meditation on courage, belonging, and the Old Stories that shape us. This book carries the sea in its bones—it is a compelling epic in the fantastical tradition, shaped by the fresh voice of a seasoned storyteller, where paradox becomes part of the truth.” — Garth Stein, author of #1 NYT bestseller The Art of Racing in the Rain & Raven Stole the Moon, a novel based on Tlingit mythology
“Storytelling at its purest, harkening back to times spent around a fire to listen to a master of their craft weave an engrossing tale… A thoroughly enjoyable, unique, and long overdue voice in modern fantasy.” —Karin Lowachee, author of The Crowns of Ishia trilogy
“Both timeless and utterly fresh… This exhilarating adventure blends the grandeur of epic fantasy with the intimacy of character-driven storytelling, opening the door to a world readers will be eager to return to.” —Booklist
“Astounding… a highly nuanced and complex novel.” —Library Journal
